Painting is all I know, all I have ever known – Heather A. French

At Parsons School of Design in NYC and at Atlanta College of Art I majored in undergrad as a portrait painter. I switched interest to become a still life painter, while earning my Masters of Fine Arts from The University of Pennsylvania.

What I love about still life painting is creating a narrative through the use of objects. Wine as the dominate subject matter, was inspired by a great friendship. Dino, a sommelier, who is now my husband, gave me some wine bottles to paint and that was all it took. My interest and knowledge of wine and related subjects has propelled my art to new heights. It keeps me enthralled as this subject matter is worldwide and timeless.

Some of the highlights in my career have been quite fulfilling:
*1996 I was the recipient of the Charles Adams Memorial Award.
*2004 I painted the holiday images for King Estate Winery in Oregon.
*2006 I was selected by Lakeridge Winery to produce their limited edition Artist Series wine label.
*2003 & 2007, I was twice the official poster artist for the Epcot International Food and Wine Festival at Walt Disney World.
*2008 I was commissioned to produce 10 paintings for the Horse Shoe Casino outside of Chicago.
*2009 I was featured as the official poster artist for the Epcot Flower and Garden Festival at Walt Disney World.
*2009 Wente Winery featured my work twice, once for a month long art show at their Livermore Estate and the second time during their Harvest Festival.
*2009 – 2010 I partnered with Disney Cruise Lines as a featured guest artist.
*2010 marks my 9th year celebration of my artwork being featured at the Epcot International Food and Wine Festival.
*2011 The Biltmore Estate released our first Artist wine label for their Festival of Flowers.
*2012 The Biltmore Estate released our 2nd Artist wine label and recognizes it with a month long artist in residence.
*2012 marked my 11th year celebration of my artwork being featured at the Epcot
International Food and Wine Festival.

I have been very fortunate to showcase my artwork in several venues: wineries, restaurants, corporations, executive offices and in the homes of the most fabulous people I have had the pleasure to meet.

As always, I look forward to more great things to come……
