This painting was the couple’s wedding gift to each other.
His favorite wine is Silver Oak, her favorite is Veuve Cliquot La Grande Dame Champagne – the two bottles are standing united next to each other. Prior to their marriage, each of them had three children. His are represented by the three red wine glasses and hers by the three champagne flutes, the height of the liquid in the glasses signifies the children’s age. Because this is now a family all the glasses mixed together.

The couple is still represented by their favorite wines. This time the six kids are part of the same family, so they are the same object – pears. What is new, in the center of the painting, is a glass of rose – a blend the red wine and the champagne to signify they are having a child together.
